Copper Harbor Trails Club

Copper Harbor Trails Club is one of the most premier mt. biking locations in the world. I started riding the CHTC trails in the Keweenaw Peninsula about 8 years ago and always enjoy the experience. CHTC builds and maintains incredible trails near Michigan’s northernmost town. Our trails are open year-round, come rain or sun or feet of snow. CHTC welcomes trail users of all ages, ability, race, color, orientation, gender, religion, profession, or however else you identify yourself.

CHTC is a member-driven organization with a volunteer Board of Directors and a paid Executive Director to help keep the wheels moving.  To put quality trails on the ground, CHTC contracts with Rock Solid Trail Contracting, based right here in Copper Harbor. Swedetown Trails, Calumet Michigan

Swedetown Recreation Area is 1900 acres of rolling, primarily wooded land set aside for public use by Calumet Township. It offers outstanding year-round trails for all ages and abilities. Swedetown Chalet provides a welcoming starting point for trail adventures.

In summer and fall Swedetown Recreation Area has more than 25 miles of purpose-built single track mountain bike trails with maps and trail markers. There are also wide relaxed biking routes following former two-tracks. Besides mountain biking, the trail system is enjoyed for nature hikes, dog walking and trail running.

For winter recreation there are 26K of groomed cross country ski trails. Primary trails are groomed daily for skating with set tracks for classic skiing.
